A Magical Wedding Invitation

Our good friends Simon, an ice cream loving poker-playing magician (yes, magician) and Joni, a lovely songbird, recently tied the knot. I wanted to share with you their wedding invitation because of the *buzz word* whimsicalness of it. And really, that's the only word that could describe it. With one of the best ceremony soundtracks to date, it was wonderful seeing these two start their lives together.

Remember Deny? He designed these wedding invitations for them. The first part was their faces on the royals intended to be playing cards. These were offset in two colors so they came out very vibrant.

Deny is a big typography buff and it shows in his work. Working with multiple fonts is difficult and has to be done with finesse. You can't just throw a bunch of random fonts together and pray that it looks cohesive. He's making the magician theme work and it isn't coming off too cheesy either.

I was also a huge fan of the unique Playbill style wedding program. In essence, Joni and Simon are very much performers so it was only fitting to do a Playbill style wedding program. What I really enjoyed was the overall concept of the Acts and verbiage that was carefully thought out. If you zoom in, you'll see what I mean.

Now for some visuals from Vivid Delight Photography! Guests were treated to Treatbot: a karaoke ice cream truck local to the bay area. Since Simon loves ice cream and Joni is a singer, this was an entertaining combination. Our friend Mary was super excited for it :)

A Wedding in a Class of its Own

I somehow stumbled up on Amber and Jeff's wedding site through a random link on Wedding Bee. This wedding happened in 2008 and maybe I'm behind on seeing this particular wedding, but it's so cute that I'll just post about it anyway. You'll see based on their profile how the theme came into play.

"My husband and I met as mechanical engineering students back in university, so it goes without saying that we are quite the science geeks (I was actually in the Math Club during high school, where we stayed after school to write math tests - for fun!)."

Prepare yourselves...

Their save the dates. I love the pencils!!

A matching wedding website. Don't you love when people take consistency seriously?

The invites: A report card and file! Cute red suitcases.
Someone went shopping at Paper Source!

Escort cards in test tubes: adorable!

A Colorful Circus-Themed Wedding

I love when people go all crazy on DIY at weddings. It truly is a labor of love. Those boutonnieres are adorable!

Alice in Wonderland Wedding at Kiss the Groom

Two weeks ago, we took Lisa to Disneyland for her bachelorette (among other locations:)) so we were excited to find an "Alice in Wonderland " tea party themed wedding from Kiss the Groom! Check out the vintage rabbit drawings on the coasters!

Don't forget to plant a wet one for your lovliness on their kissing tree.

Real Wedding - A Circus Wedding: Adam and Halli

I've been oogling over these awesome wedding photos from Once Wed's blog taken by photographer Josh Goleman. Adam and Halli did this really cute circus theme and incorporated it all throughout their wedding. The kissing booth, the huge balloons, the invite with the circus type and imagery-- down to her dress really completed to the whole feel of the wedding. The photos were also amazing. Check out their engagement session! Completely and utterly joliejolie.
