Black and White Butterfly Wedding Inspiration

I came across Design Sponge's piece on From Inspiration to Reality  that Style Me Pretty did and loved what they featured! So elegant and whimsical that I couldn't help but share too. The cake has an Orla Kiely feel! I love it!

I Believe it's Cake!

Some amazing cakes from I Believe it's Cake. The taco cake throws me off a bit. It doesn't look like a cake at all. Amazing!

Part 1 of Lisa's Shower - The Outfits & The Grub

We had some crazy outfits at the 80's-themed bridal shower for our costume contest. Check out some of the best dressed and the inspirations behind them! Lisa, of course, did not get to compete, but we adored her more conservative version of Madonna's "like a virgin" outfit.

We grubbed on some yummy snacks like mini pigs in a blanket, mini pizzas and a nachos bar. One of the bridesmaids also made Orange Julius and it was delicious and so easy to make. This is the recipe we used.

No, you aren't seeing things. That is a twinkie cake made of twinkies, hohos and a snowball.

Continuing on with the sugar rush, we had a candy bar for favors.

The hot pink candy bar bags were sealed with a cassette tape label that read
"create your own sweet mix"

More to come including a game involving Michael Jackson's infamous white glove.

Give me CAKE!

With shows like Ace of Cakes and Amazing Wedding Cakes, you can't help but drool and wow over what they can do with cakes! There seems to be no limit to what you would like to have done for your special occasion.

I was watching Amazing Wedding Cakes one night for the very first time and watched as Lauri Ditunno of Cake Alchemy in New York create this masterpiece. To watch her create the marble finish to the fondant and the chocolate spider web was enough for me to look her up to see what else she has done!

The roses that are on this cake are actual sugar flowers... yep they are not real! On the show Ruth Drennan who also owns her own business that specializes in these sugar flowers for cakes, made about 5 of these roses in 1 hour! Count how many roses are on that cake! :) Amazing aren't they!

Here are some more cakes by Cake Alchemy..

A couple weeks ago my friend Annette made me the best cake ever for my bridal shower. It was a pistachio flavored cake and she played with black and white fondant to create this DIY yummy masterpiece.. Thanks Annette!

Have a great Wednesday!
